Job Summary

Team Red Dog is hiring a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer for our client a world-class innovation client and Fortune 50 technology leader focused on next-generation gaming hardware and this highly collaborative role youll contribute to firmware development for cutting-edge consumer devices working hands-on with embedded systems device drivers RTOS environments and low-level hardware integration that directly power the gaming experience.

This opportunity is ideal for engineers passionate about embedded firmware consumer electronics C/C development and solving complex hardware-software challenges in a fast-moving product engineering environment. Youll work closely with firmware electrical engineering validation and operating system teams to help bring innovative gaming accessories and emerging technologies to market.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Embedded firmware development using C and C for consumer electronics and connected hardware devices including low-level debugging and firmware architecture design.
  2. Experience with embedded RTOS or FreeRTOS environments including device drivers peripheral integration communication interfaces and power management systems.
  3. Strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities across firmware hardware and system-level interactions including unit testing and firmware validation.
  4. Experience collaborating across firmware hardware validation and operating system teams in fast-paced product development environments.

How you will make an impact:
Participate in all phases of hardware product development including firmware design implementation prototyping proof-of-concept development and testing
Design and implement firmware components such as device drivers peripheral drivers communication interfaces sensor/input processing and power management state machines
Develop test code automation scripts and debugging tools to support firmware validation and product quality
Perform firmware code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Integrate firmware and code drops from third-party suppliers into the broader platform ecosystem
Troubleshoot complex firmware and hardware interactions spanning multiple systems and components
Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware operating system electrical design and validation engineering teams
Support firmware bring-up activities for new gaming devices and accessories
Participate in technical discussions firmware reviews and hardware integration meetings throughout the development lifecycle

The expertise you bring:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related technical field preferred
8 years of professional experience in embedded firmware development
Advanced programming experience with C and C in embedded environments
Strong experience writing and debugging embedded firmware for consumer electronics or hardware products
Familiarity with embedded RTOS or FreeRTOS development and debugging
Strong foundation in computer science concepts including algorithms data structures and software design principles
Experience with device drivers communication protocols hardware interfaces and low-level firmware systems
Experience performing unit testing firmware validation and in-depth troubleshooting
Ability to work effectively in collaborative engineering environments with cross-functional stakeholders
Experience supporting firmware quality reliability and delivery timelines in product development environments
