Laboratory Analyst Grade 1
Job Summary
ABOUT YOU:
We are seekingan experienced laboratory professional with a background in a UKAS-accredited environment confident in hands-on analytical work and data reporting. You have a positive flexible approach strong communication skills and the ability to support and guide junior colleagues while maintaining high QHSE standards.
Required skills and experience:
Degree/Higher National Certificate or at least 3 years experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
Highly proficient in computer programs such as MS Office and data entry/recording
Willing to be hands on working at all levels
A positive attitude the ability to develop and initiate new procedures working to tight deadlines and the ability for working and communicating to diverse personalities.
Flexible approach to working hours.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This role offers the chance to join a successful Aberdeen laboratory team supporting daily operations analytical testing and reporting. You will work closely with the Supervisor act as an authorised signatory where appropriate mentor junior staff and contribute to quality customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Support the Supervisor with daytoday laboratory operations and work prioritisation
- Carry out analytical testing equipment maintenance and calibrations to required standards
- Prepare review and sign reports as an authorised signatory where applicable
- Train mentor and provide technical support to junior colleagues
- Support quotations contract reviews and purchase order management within authority limits
- Communicate professionally with clients and external technical stakeholders
- Contribute to method development validation and new project work
- Maintain stock control and consumables for the service line
- Deliver excellent customer service and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in client site or offshore work where required
- Promote teamwork engagement and Intertek values within the laboratory
- Support the development and upskilling of junior team members
- Ensure full compliance with QHSE UKAS and ISO standards
- Report incidents nonconformances and participate in audits and safety activities
