Position Overview:
Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a Nephrology Physician Assistant to fill an opening with a multi-specialty practice located in Bronx New York. Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure: Must have an active New York State license. Must be board-certified or board-eligible.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant (not necessarily in Nephrology). Nephrology experience is a plus but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in patient assessment diagnostic test interpretation medication management and electronic health records. Willingness to learn nephrology-specific procedures and treatments.
- Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment excellent communication and interpersonal skills empathy attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical histories physical examinations and renal function evaluations.
- Assist in the diagnosis and management of kidney-related conditions such as chronic kidney disease hypertension electrolyte imbalances glomerulonephritis and end-stage renal disease.
- Order interpret and analyze diagnostic tests including blood work (creatinine BUN GFR) urinalysis and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising nephrologist.
- Prescribe medications including antihypertensives diuretics and phosphate binders as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on kidney disease management dietary modifications (fluid sodium potassium phosphorus restrictions) medication adherence and when to seek emergency care.
- Coordinate care with dialysis centers transplant teams and other specialists within the multi-specialty practice.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate thorough and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
- Stay current with advancements in nephrology through continuing medical education and collaboration with supervising physicians.
