PeopleTec is currently seeking a Research Engineer / Scientist to support our Huntsville AL location.
We are seeking a Research Engineer/Scientist to join our team at PeopleTec Inc. This is an entry-level position for individuals with 0-3 years of experience in engineering physics or related STEM fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation and a desire to contribute to research and development (R&D) projects in areas such as engineering physics electronics RF systems and emerging technologies.
In this role you will work as part of a collaborative team to design experiments develop models and analyze data to solve complex technical challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in Government and contractor laboratories gaining hands-on experience and building your technical expertise. Candidates with experience or interest in RF systems electronics or chip design are encouraged to apply though this is not a requirement for the position.
This position is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to apply their education to real-world problems develop new skills and grow their careers in a dynamic research environment.
Duties:
- Assist with the design and execution of experiments including laboratory and simulation-based activities.
- Conduct data analysis and contribute to the development of computational models using tools such as MATLAB Python or similar software.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and test hypotheses related to engineering physics and emerging technologies.
- Support the development of technical documentation including research reports experimental procedures and presentations.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including instrumentation and measurement systems.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss technical progress and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
- Stay current with relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies to support research activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of customer deliverables and assist with proposal development as needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 0-3 years of experience in a research or technical role including internships co-op programs or academic projects.
- Strong understanding of scientific principles laboratory techniques and engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as Python MATLAB or similar for data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present technical findings clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to new challenges.
- Preferred but not required: Experience or coursework in RF systems electronics or chip design.
- Travel: 10 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics Computer Science or a related STEM field is required.
- Masters degree is preferred but not required. Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
