Location Profile:
Headquartered in Irvine CA Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly structural assembly rotor blade attachment and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining Punch Press Thread Rolling Laser Marking Heat Treating NDT and EDM.
Position Summary
The Finance Co-op will gain practical experience by working on assignments that align with their academic studies in Accounting or Finance. This hands-on opportunity is designed to provide valuable learning contribute meaningfully to the business and support the students professional development within a corporate finance environment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Apply academic knowledge to real-world financial analysis reporting and accounting projects.
Support the accounting team in achieving performance goals and take on increasing responsibility throughout the co-op rotation.
Collaborate with internal departments and may interface with customers and vendors to improve processes.
Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Participate in regular departmental meetings and contribute to team discussions.
Attend company-provided training sessions and learning opportunities to broaden knowledge and skills.
Assist with system analysis testing and documentation for current financial processes.
Own and manage assigned projects from start to finish with accountability for outcomes.
Support cross-functional teams on financial and operational initiatives including new product launches and process optimization.
Ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time meeting provided specifications and project goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong foundational knowledge of finance or accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial software a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- U.S. Person or Ability to Obtain Export Authorization.
Education and Experience
Must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
