Barista | Part-Time | Miller Theater

We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our team at Curtain Call Cafe inside the Kimmel Center. The ideal candidate will need to have some experience within food retail or a similar quality-led high-volume fast-paced environment. Great presence personality communication skills and a love of food and drink are essential.

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00 and is tip eligible.

In 2024 The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Cultural Campus introduced the Ensemble Arts Philly brand name to improve clarity for the audience experience across our physical spaces and online. This new brand represents a wide variety of genres including Broadway comedy theater jazz dance and family presentations across our three venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts the Academy of Music and the Miller Theater.

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee espresso drinks teas and specialty drinks.
• Follow specific recipes ensure consistency and may create latte art to enhance the customer experience.
• Greet customers take orders provide recommendations answer questions about menu items and handle payments.
• Ensure a welcoming environment and address customer concerns to maintain satisfaction.
• Operate coffee machines grinders and other equipment calibrate espresso machines and manage point-of-sale systems.
• Assist with inventory management stock supplies and prepare food items such as pastries sandwiches or snacks.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace sanitize equipment clean counters restock supplies and ensure the dining area is tidy.

• 1 years of experience in coffee shops smoothie bars cafés or restaurant beverage programs preferred.
• Experience operating espresso machines blenders grinders and related beverage equipment strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and nutrition guidelines precisely.
• Ability to work efficiently during peak service periods while maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Professional communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with athletes coaches chefs and training staff.
• Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule availability to align with Miller Theater event and performance schedules.
