Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented PCB Parts Designer to join our Engineering team in Rochester NY. You will play a crucial role in developing advanced radio communication equipment for military and first responder applications. Your primary focus will be utilizing EDA tools to create and maintain schematic symbols and footprints for printed circuit board components.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize Siemens/Mentor PADS Designer & Layout and AutoCAD software for part design.
Create and maintain high-quality schematic symbols and ECAD library components based on vendor data sheets.
Design copper pad footprints solder mask and solder paste patterns following IPC standards and internal guidelines.
Collaborate with PCB Designers to provide accurate ECAD footprints.
Review mechanical drawings and data sheets for dimensional accuracy.
Ensure all designs meet fabrication manufacturing and assembly requirements.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelors Degree with 2 years of experience OR a Graduate Degree with 0-2 years of experience. (In lieu of a degree 6 years of relevant experience is required).
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with CAD software (PADS/AutoCAD preferred).
Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of SMT and through-hole electronic components.
Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read and understand mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing.
PLM Tools: Familiarity with tools like Agile or Teamcenter is a plus.
Citizenship: Must be a US Person (No Visa Sponsorship available).
