Description

What can you expect in this role

  • Provide technical claims advice within the auto line of business and serve as a subject-matter expert to support the development of line-specific training.
  • Support frontline adjusting teams and leadership by providing technical guidance and building overall claims expertise.
  • Develop document and maintain standards policies and procedures related to auto claims handling.
  • Develop and deliver clear concise technical communications to multiple claims groups.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance file reviews and audits; support the development of action plans and document outcomes.
  • Keep team members informed of relevant industry legal and internal corporate developments.
  • Provide technical input and necessary information to internal and external partners including Claims partners Actuarial Underwriting and independent appraisal vendors.
  • Collaborate with claims partners to assess evaluate and develop ongoing training needs.
  • Manage risk related to auto legal matters including statements of claim and litigation-related issues.
  • Collaborate with our SIU & adjusting teams to review claims and provide technical guidance.

What do you bring to the role

  • University degree in any discipline a 2-year college diploma or a CIP designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience handling auto claims or supporting an auto claims team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player who is adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operation while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Professional friendly and courteous in all interactions with customers partners and colleagues.
  • Leadership experience is considered an asset.
  • Legal or litigation-related experience is considered an asset.
