Job Title: Executive Director of District Operations Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Supervises: Assists in the supervision of departments within District Operations
Primary Purpose: To assist the Chief Operating Officer in the supervision of departments within the District Operations Division. This position directly manages the functions and personnel of the Construction and Facilities Departments. This position represents the Chief Operating Officer within meetings and functions associated with bond programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree required Masters degree preferred
Special Knowledge Skills:
- Strong organization communication and interpersonal skills and extensive experience in conflict resolution.
- Ability to interpret policy procedures building codes and laws as related to divisional responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of the principles of construction and related systems.
- Understanding of District demographics school attendance zones and related data and processes.
- Ability to desegregate data as required in order to make recommendations in the operations of the District.
- Ability to identify ways in which the school district can operate more efficiently.
- Ability to engage in and help lead long range capital planning for the school district.
Experience:
- Five years experience in managing/supervising personnel.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in ensuring that District Operations is supportive of the instructional goals of the district.
- Establish and recommend priorities for facilities and construction projects.
- Ensure all departments and programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
- Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
- Examine school district facilities on a regular basis to assess the need for repairs and routine maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position directly manages the functions and personnel of the Construction Facilities and Roofing Departments. This position also assists the Chief Operating Officer in the supervision of other departments within the District Operations Division.
Working Conditions:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; small hand tools; ladder; mechanical and electrical testing equipment; small truck or van
Posture: Frequent standing kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking climbing stairs/ladders grasping/squeezing wrist flexion/extension and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (1544 pounds)
Environment: Work outside and inside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures dust noise vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work alone; may work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel
