Position Summary
Be part of an Electrical Engineering team responsible for designing developing implementing and maintaining electrical equipment within Grant County PUDs Priest Rapids and Wanapum Hydro Power Generation Facilities. This position is responsible to provide knowledge and expertise in their discipline related to Wanapum and Priest Rapids Hydro Dams 230kV Switchyard and other Supporting Facilities within Grant County PUDs Power Production Department.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Engineer III:
- Develop and implement low/medium impact Electrical Projects throughout the Wanapum and Priest Rapids Hydro Power Generation Facilities as well as the Power Productions 230kV Switchyard and Supporting facilities.
- Knowledgeable about equipment that ranges from but is not limited to High/Medium/Low Voltage Distribution systems PLC/VFD and Control Systems Exciters Governors Generator Systems Transformers (Distribution and GSU) SCADA Systems Protective Relay Equipment High/Medium/Low Voltage Circuit Breakers Battery Systems Bridge Cranes Motor Control Centers etc as well as other supporting equipment that is required for the safe and reliable operation of the Generators and supporting equipment.
- Research Design and Support the implementation of New and Upgraded equipment throughout the Hydro Generation Facilities within their field of expertise with moderate guidance from supervisor and peers.
- Project Management Support that include budget forecasts scheduling coordination construction/commissioning for medium-sized projects.
- Provide technical knowledge to assist other Engineers Electricians Operators or other departments throughout Power Production in regard to troubleshooting equipment outages breakdowns or during detailed design of equipment based on knowledge and experience.
- This position will have a basic understanding in skills related to best industry practice Utility Standards Codes or other Legal Standards that will be used to support electrical engineering projects and that are required for the safe and reliable operation of the equipment.
- Research and have an understanding related to impacts to FERC NERC and CIP compliance standards.
- A fully skilled candidate for the Engineer III will have some of the following knowledge skills & abilities:
- Knowledge related to Generators Exciters Governors and Supporting equipment.
- Familiar with High/Medium Voltage Transmission and Distribution Equipment.
- Experience with Station Service and Substation Equipment related to the Powerhouse Distribution Systems.
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems related to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Motor Control Circuits and Instrumentation Devices such as (Flow Sensors Level Sensors Pressure Sensors Temperature Sensors etc) with an understanding of PID Loop Controls.
- Skills with Computer Programming in control languages such as Ladder Logix C Structure Text Block Logix Visual Basic etc.
- Troubleshooting maintenance experience and optimization techniques related to Operating systems Electrical Equipment and around Generation Hydro Dams and High/Medium/Low Voltage Distribution systems.
- Basic Understanding of Data Communication protocols and networking equipment related to Protective Relays (SEL) PLC HMI VFD Ethernet/Fiber switch communication systems.
- Technical writing and ability to draft reports associated with performance of critical equipment and their impacts to operations and maintenance.
- Generate interpret review and revise existing/new drawings
- Demonstrate commitment to Grant PUDs mission vision values and strategic plan. The employee should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations. Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws regulations security guidelines Grant PUD policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program including but not limited to:

Engineer IV:
- High-level individual contributor (non-leadership) position in the Electrical Engineering Group responsible for developing and implementing medium/high impact Electrical Projects throughout the Wanapum and Priest Rapids Hydro Power Generation Facilities as well as the Power Productions 230kV Switchyard and Supporting facilities.
- Expert on Equipment that ranges from but is not limited to High/Medium/Low Voltage Distribution systems PLC/VFD and Control Systems Exciters Governors Generator Systems Transformers (Distribution and GSU) Ovation SCADA Systems Protective Relay Equipment High/Medium/Low Voltage Circuit Breakers Battery Systems Bridge Cranes Motor Control Centers etc as well as other supporting equipment that is required for the safe and reliable operation of the Generators and supporting equipment.

- This position will be an expert in utilizing skills related to best industry practice Utility Standards Codes or other Legal Standards that are required for the safe and reliable operation of the equipment.
- Perform work on systems with a high level of risk to regulatory compliance. Extremely familiar with the understanding related to impacts to FERC NERC and CIP compliance standards.
- A fully skilled candidate for the Engineer IV will have most of the following knowledge skills & abilities:
- Experience with Generators Exciters Governors and Supporting equipment in a Hydro Dam facility Natural Gas/Coal Facility and/or Nuclear Power Facility.

Required Qualifications (Education Experience Licenses & Certifications):
Engineer III:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 3-5 years in discipline working in Utility or Industrial Environment.
- A valid State drivers license with no restrictions.
Engineer IV
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology
- 6-9 years in discipline working in Utility or Industrial Environment.
- A valid State drivers license with no restrictions.
Engineer V:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology
- 10 years in discipline working in Utility or Industrial Environment.
- A valid State drivers license with no restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications (Education Experience Licenses & Certifications):
Engineer III
- A Washington State Engineering in Training
- Professional Engineer (PE).
Engineer IV-V
- Masters Degree
- A Washington State Engineering in Training
- Professional Engineer (PE).
Other Knowledge Skills & Abilities
