Harrisburg High School is seeking a qualified and motivated instructor to teach Introduction to Healthcare a Level 1 Career and Technical Education (CTE) course aligned to Arkansas state standards. This course serves as the foundation of the Health Sciences pathway and prepares students for advancement into Level 2 and Level 3 courses culminating in the opportunity to earn a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
The instructor will provide engaging standards-based instruction that introduces students to healthcare careers foundational medical knowledge and essential workplace skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Medical License/Certification (required for grades 712)
- Eligibility for or possession of Arkansas Technical Permit 611 Medical Professions Technical Permit Information
- 2 years related work experience in addition to your degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates who qualify for the Nursing Assistant Training Program (NATP) NATP Requirements Information
- Experience working with students or in an educational setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to student success and career readiness
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time position consisting of two instructional periods and one planning period daily
- Opportunity to grow the program and support students in completing a full Health Sciences pathway
- Potential to expand course offerings in future years including Level 2 and CNA certification courses
