Job Description Summary
The Operations Leader will provide strategic and operational leadership for both the Gas Power India Engineering organization and the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) Bangalore. This role is accountable for enabling integrated efficient and compliant operations across a complex footprint that includes:Gas Power India Engineering teams located across Bangalore Hyderabad Noida and other India locations comprising approximately 800 employees with an annual engineering functional budget of $40M
JFWTC Bangalore a multi-business multi-legal-entity campus with 1600 employees and approximately 60000 sq. ft. of lab infrastructure
The role will drive one-team operating rhythm cross-functional integration operational excellence budget rigor site effectiveness and strategic actions that improve productivity and employee experience. The leader will partner closely with Engineering leadership JFWTC site leadership Finance HR EHS Compliance Sourcing IT Legal Facilities and business operations teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while shaping the future operating model for scale simplification and impact.
This position requires a leader who can operate at both strategic and execution levelssetting direction aligning stakeholders solving complex operational issues and building standard work governance and performance management mechanisms that improve effectiveness across teams and sites.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead integrated operations across Gas Power India Engineering and JFWTC Bangalore ensuring alignment of priorities governance and execution across a complex multi-site multi-business environment.
- Develop and execute operating plans aligned to business strategy driving consistency scalability and best-practice deployment while addressing site-specific needs.
- Drive operational excellence through robust operating rhythm performance reviews dashboards and governance mechanisms that strengthen decision-making accountability and execution rigor.
- Lead strategic initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness productivity simplification and cost competitiveness including digital and AI-enabled operations improvements.
- Partner with Finance to lead annual operating plans budget and forecast cycles cost productivity monthly reporting and capital investment decisions ensuring disciplined management of functional and site costs.
- Oversee headcount and funding operations including workforce planning approvals and vouchering processes to deliver against approved plans and business requirements.
- Provide operational leadership for JFWTC site and lab infrastructure including facilities sourcing lab support and critical technology/infrastructure needs required to enable business execution.
- Partner with global and cross-functional stakeholders including IT and enterprise functions to align with standards streamline processes and ensure effective support across engineering and site operations.
- Champion lean continuous improvement and standard work to enhance efficiency service levels and cross-site collaboration.
- Build a strong One Team safety-first and compliance-led culture that advances employee engagement talent enablement business continuity and operational integrity.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with minimum of 12 years of experience
- Significant experience in operations engineering operations site leadership program management or business operations
- Demonstrated experience leading in a complex matrix organization across multiple stakeholders sites and functions
- Strong experience in budget planning headcount management operating reviews governance and cross-functional execution
- Strong project and program management skills with ability to drive multiple initiatives
