About the role
As the Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry you will be responsible for delivering a high-performing safe and effective departmental service. This role provides strategic and operational leadership overseeing the coordination performance and continuous improvement of the department. The Director ensures that standards of clinical practice are consistently maintained and aligned with best practice while fostering a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
In addition the Director leads and implements change initiatives within the department to achieve agreed clinical operational and organizational outcomes.
Your main duties will include:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of a safe high-quality and efficient Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service.
- Lead support and develop a multidisciplinary team while fostering a positive collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Drive continuous improvement clinical governance and service innovation to achieve best-practice outcomes and organisational objectives.
About you
- A primary medical degree registrable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
- Extensive clinical experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry within the public/private hospital field.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to seek out improvements to service delivery by designing and delivering effective workplace systems.
- Demonstrated ability to transform or enhance the culture within an organisation as well as demonstrated communication interpersonal and negotiation skills necessary to lead with vision and inspire the commitment of others.
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance to promote quality and safety in health care with experience in and commitment to evidence based best practice
