About the position
The Ethics Integrity and Biosafety Team of the Research Office at La Trobe University provides holistic ethics integrity and biosafety advice support and service to researchers and to Committees to facilitate the ambitious University research performance targets

The Research Ethics and Biosafety Advisor is part of the Research Ethics team within the Ethics Integrity and Biosafety team and will work alongside the three Research Ethics and Biosafety Advisors in supporting senior members of the team.

The incumbent will assist in providing first level advice to key research stakeholders on all matters pertaining to ethics integrity and biosafety at La Trobe University. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for administration of Unexpected Adverse Event and annual and final reporting across the animal and human research ethics functions and will be required to provide secretariat support to the Committees as necessary.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Undergraduate degree preferably with research experience and at least two years administrative experience in a relevant setting
  • Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise developed through extensive relevant experience and application.
  • Willingness to be part of a team of administrators covering all aspects of integrity ethics and biosafety to enable peak times across all Committees to be adequately resourced.
  • High level proficiency in computer software packages including AI assistants word processing spreadsheets databases email and the use of the internet as a research tool.
