Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions for some of the worlds most complex custom superyachts ranging from 50 to 140 meters.
In this role you will take technical ownership of structural design activities coordinate engineering work and act as a key point of expertise for the structural engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop the primary structural concept and overall structural design for custom luxury superyachts between 50 and 140 meters together with a team of engineers
- Maintain a clear overview of both high-level concepts and detailed technical aspects throughout the design process
- Create innovative engineering solutions for the integration of complex components
- Take responsibility for strength and stiffness calculations including hand calculations and collaboration with FEM specialists
- Use 3D CAD systems to accurately process manage and maintain design information and specifications
- Represent the structural discipline and ensure seamless integration with other engineering departments
- Ensure quality control and timely delivery in line with planning budget technical requirements and project specifications
- Coordinate with shipyards owners representatives classification societies and suppliers
- Assess the manufacturability of structural designs and monitor detailed engineering and hull construction during later project phases
- Act as a technical reference point for structural engineering colleagues providing coaching guidance and expert advice
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in structural ship design combined with leadership experience in complex shipbuilding engineering projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Naval Architecture Naval Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within shipbuilding engineering
- Proven experience as a Structural Engineer in shipbuilding or yacht building
- Strong knowledge of modern 3D CAD PLM and/or FEM applications
- Experience with Siemens NX is considered an advantage
- Solid expertise in ship design preferably involving passenger vessels or yachts over 50 meters
- Good understanding of safety standards and relevant regulations including LR REG LY Code and SOLAS
- Experience with FEM and vibration analyses
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- EU resident with a valid Dutch work permit or eligibility to work in the Netherlands
