Applied Materials is looking for an Instructional Training Designer to join our global learning center in Treviso - Italy.
This role is ideal for a learning professional who enjoys designing structured highquality training solutions working closely with Subject Matter Experts and driving projects forward in a fastmoving collaborative environment.
This position focuses on learning design and development (not training delivery) supporting a global audience through scalable standardsdriven training programs.
What You Will Do
As an Instructional Designer you will act as both a learning architect and project driver balancing deep design work with crossfunctional collaboration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to analyze training needs and define clear measurable learning objectives
- Designing effective learning experiences using established instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE SAM)
- Selecting the most appropriate learning formats (eLearning InstructorLed Training WebBased Training videos job aids guides)
- Developing multimodal learning assets for adult learners including interactive eLearning student and facilitator guides assessments and supporting content
- Creating and refining assessments aligned with learning objectives (quizzes knowledge checks closedbook exams troubleshooting scenarios)
- Managing projects endtoend: timelines milestones risks dependencies and crossfunctional handoffs
- Leading review cycles and incorporating feedback to ensure quality consistency and effectiveness
- Coordinating with production teams and supporting course release through the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Working across regions and time zones while keeping projects on track
What Were Looking For
- Experience in instructional design for adult learners in corporate training professional development or continuing education
- A degree in Instructional Design Education Learning Sciences or a related field (certifications are a plus)
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design frameworks (Andragogy Blooms Taxonomy Cognitive Load Theory Gagnés Nine Events)
- Proven experience working in an SMEpartner model
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- A proactive solutionoriented mindset with strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a global multicultural environment
Technical Skills
- Learning Management Systems (e.g. Saba Canvas Moodle)
- eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline Adobe Captivate Camtasia
- Project management tools (e.g. Smartsheets Jira MS Project)
- Collaboration tools (MS Teams Google Docs Slack)
- Graphic design or video editing tools (Adobe Photoshop Illustrator Premiere Pro) are a plus
