What will you do

The Attorney-Generals Chambers (AGC) is a critical organ of state that plays a pivotal role in the administration of justice and the maintenance of the rule of law in Singapore. As the legal advisor to the Government and the Public Prosecutor AGC provides high-quality legal advice drafts legislation and represents the State in legal proceedings.

What will you do

You will join the Attorney-Generals Chambers (AGC) as an Augmented Resource (AR) working as a core member of our technical team to solve complex challenges and drive digital initiatives that support our legal and prosecutorial functions. You will be responsible for the implementation and technical delivery of high-impact products ensuring that our solutions meet the rigorous standards of the Singapore legal system.

• Technical Ownership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex features ensuring that technical designs are robust scalable and aligned with long-term goals.
• Engineering Excellence: Drive the adoption of high-quality engineering standards ensuring that software systems are maintainable secure and reusable.
• Design & Implementation: Take an active role in architectural discussions and squad-level technical decisions advocating for best practices in modern software development.
• Strategic Influence: Help shape the technical direction of digital initiatives to maximize their impact on the public good.
• Culture Building: Establish and refine engineering practices and tools that foster a strong effective and collaborative engineering culture.
• Stakeholder & Dependency Management: Independently navigate work-related dependencies and communicate technical concepts effectively to both senior leads and legal domain experts.
• Roadmapping: Collaborate with leadership to define and update technical plans and infrastructure roadmaps to meet future organizational needs.

What are we looking for

• We are looking for an energetic software engineer who views development as a team sport and takes pride in the craftsmanship performance and reliability of their work.
• More than 7 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Experience in building and maintaining reasonably large high-availability software systems.
• Experience in public sector legal or highly regulated environments is advantageous.
• Strong experience in modern full-stack web application development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript Typescript frontend development and TypeScript Python for AI related back-end development is mandatory
• GenAI Development: Hands-on experience or a strong interest in Generative AI (GenAI) development including working with Large Language Models (LLMs) RAG patterns and AI-driven features.

Infrastructure & Cloud:

• Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure is mandatory
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform is mandatory

DevOps:

• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines exclusively using GitLab CI within the SHIP-HATS ecosystem.

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively with product owners and technical stakeholders. For legal professionals or highly technical discussions able to explain clearly the rationale of your work.
• Technical Maturity: A strong sense of ownership and the ability to navigate a professional high-stakes organizational environment.
• Comfort with Ambiguity: You will be provided with some level of guidance but details of the work have to be developed by you where none exists and drive progress without waiting for perfect conditions or complete information.
• Collaboration: A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn from senior leads and grow within the team.

This is a hybrid role based at the Attorney-Generals Chambers located in PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering.
