The Department of Athletics and Recreation at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Member Services Assistant.

What youll do

Responsibilities

The Member Services Assistant is part of a team of fitness recreation and athletic professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality programs and services to the Mount and the surrounding community. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and the Manager Promotions & Member Services this role supports the daily operations of the Mount Fitness Centre.

The Member Services Assistant provides excellent customer service and administrative support including membership and program registration using a facility management software system quality control of member accounts office administration and financial processing. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate records ensuring data integrity confidentiality and compliance with records management practices and preparing reports related to all programs and services. The role also provides guidance and direction to student staff and supports the department with daily tasks.

As the first point of contact for the Mount Fitness Centre the Member Services Assistant oversees the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Centre Desk and responds to in-person email and phone inquiries. The position provides information on membership and program offerings and supports students staff faculty and community members with registrations and general inquiries. The Member Services Assistant identifies and reports inaccuracies provides recommendations to the Athletics & Recreation team and ensures workflows and timelines are maintained. This position also conducts daily risk assessments within the sport and fitness environment serves as the first responder to incidents in the Mount Fitness Centre and activates the Emergency Action Plan including Code Adam when addition the Member Services Assistant serves as the Day Camp Registrar and is a key member of the Day Camp Management Team.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have completed at minimum a 2-year diploma in Recreation and/or Sport Management with one year of related experience. Candidates must be computer literate and possess strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills. Experience and knowledge of the fitness industry is an asset. Demonstrated dedication to providing excellent customer service is required. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is a must. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and have an aptitude for or previous experience using Facility software systems such as Legend or PerfectMind.

Classification: Full Time NSGEU Level 5 Position (currently under review)
Starting Salary: $39449 per annum (Step Progression: $39449 to $45727)
