THE OPPORTUNITY

The Marketing & Communications Manager is a key member of CFUFs Development Department and leads the organizations marketing communications digital engagement and online fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for elevating CFUFs brand visibility and storytelling across digital platforms media outlets fundraising campaigns and community engagement initiatives at both the local and national level.

Reporting to the Director of Development the Marketing & Communications Manager develops compelling content and integrated communications strategies that increase awareness of CFUFs mission programs services and impact. This role blends strategic communications digital marketing public relations graphic design oversight and donor engagement in support of organizational growth and community impact.

Additionally this positions broader responsibilities include:

  • Leading digital marketing and communications strategies across multiple platforms
  • Managing media relations storytelling and public engagement efforts
  • Driving online fundraising and donor communication initiatives
  • Maintaining brand consistency across all communications and visual materials
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to support organizational visibility and engagement goals


What to Expect from This Opportunity

Media & Public Relations

  • Write and distribute press releases media alerts and public-facing communications
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries reporters and producers
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets to elevate CFUFs visibility and thought leadership
  • Research media trends and identify strategic opportunities for earned media coverage
  • Support storytelling efforts that educate audiences on issues impacting urban families and communities

Graphic Design & Visual Communications

  • Maintain consistency of CFUFs brand identity across all materials and platforms
  • Design and produce collateral for fundraising campaigns organizational initiatives and events
  • Support the development and production of CFUFs annual impact report
  • Maintain and organize CFUFs photo and video library

Digital & Social Media

  • Manage and grow CFUFs social media presence across existing and emerging platforms
  • Develop and maintain engaging content calendars aligned with organizational goals and campaigns
  • Lead social media strategies that increase audience engagement brand awareness and website traffic
  • Monitor engagement metrics and analytics using tools such as Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics
  • Manage paid advertising campaigns and digital fundraising initiatives

Website Management

  • Create update and maintain website content in collaboration with web development partners as needed
  • Monitor website performance and recommend improvements to user experience and engagement
  • Utilize website analytics and assessment tools to inform digital strategy decisions

Email Marketing & Digital Fundraising

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns including newsletters donor communications and partner outreach
  • Manage email segmentation audience targeting and campaign content development
  • Analyze email performance metrics and adjust strategies based on engagement outcomes
  • Create compelling donor-centered content that informs inspires and increases philanthropic engagement
  • Develop follow-up campaigns and stewardship communications to strengthen donor relationships
  • Support digital fundraising efforts that encourage online giving and peer-to-peer fundraising participation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate meetings and communication planning processes across departments
  • Partner with teams across the organization to ensure brand consistency and messaging accuracy
  • Support organization-wide communication needs campaigns and special initiatives


Schedule: Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM with occasional meetings or events. This position offers one day of remote work per week.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Journalism Business or a related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing and communications required
  • Experience in nonprofit communications fundraising or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
  • Strong written verbal and visual communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite WordPress social media management platforms and graphic design principles preferred
  • Experience with budget management and cost estimating preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and professionalism
