MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Assistant Facilities Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a large 24/7 FDA-regulated manufacturing facility. This position will work closely with the Facilities Manager to help oversee facility maintenance operations critical building systems vendors contractors and facility technicians while ensuring compliance with GMP and FDA requirements.
The facility has recently undergone an FDA audit and is experiencing significant operational changes creating an excellent opportunity for a facilities professional who thrives in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Facilities Manager to oversee daily facility operations and maintenance activities.
Assist in managing facility technicians contractors and service vendors.
Support operations within GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
Coordinate repairs preventive maintenance activities and facility inspections.
Ensure facility systems remain safe compliant and operational.
Monitor and support critical building systems including HVAC and other essential infrastructure.
Manage vendor relationships service contracts and project execution.
Assist with construction and renovation projects occurring throughout the facility.
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation work orders reports and compliance records.
Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and support SAP-based maintenance processes.
Respond promptly to facility issues and support after-hours situations when necessary.
Participate in budgeting resource planning and operational improvement initiatives.
Serve as a liaison between facility operations contractors and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
5 years of facilities maintenance engineering or property operations experience.
Experience working within FDA-regulated GMP pharmaceutical biotech food manufacturing or similar highly regulated environments.
Familiarity with critical building systems and infrastructure.
Experience supervising maintenance personnel vendors and contractors.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and facility operations.
Vendor management and construction management experience preferred.
Experience with VMS (Vendor Management Systems) preferred.
SAP maintenance system experience is a plus.
Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
