The PhysicalTherapyAide in an outpatient orthopedic setting is a pre-licensure or newly graduated clinician participating in a structured mentorship and training program. This role focuses on developing advanced skills in orthopedic evaluation manual therapy movement analysis and evidence-based treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with Virginia regulations.

The aide will progressively build independence while delivering high-quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions post-operative needs and functional limitations.

How youll contribute

APhysicalTherapyAidewho excels in this role will:

Assist with and progressively perform orthopedic evaluations under direct supervision

Deliver individualized treatment plans for conditions including:

Post-operative rehabilitation (e.g. joint replacements ACL repairs)

Sports injuries

Spine conditions (neck and low back pain)

General orthopedic dysfunction

Perform and learn hands-on techniques such as:

Manual therapy soft tissue mobilization therapeutic exercise progression

Analyze movement patterns posture and biomechanics

Educate patients on injury prevention recovery timelines and home exercise programs

What were looking for

Applicants should beGraduate of an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program (or final-term student).Additional requirements include:

Eligible for Virginia licensure (or actively pursuing)

Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)

Strong interest in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation

Excellent communication and patient engagement skills

Clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics preferred

Exposure to manual therapy techniques preferred

Interest in sports rehab return-to-play or performance training preferred

Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
