The Human Resource Specialist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including workplace investigations benefits and leave and enforcing company policies and practices. Will collect compile and analyze HR data metrics and statistics and apply this data to make recommendations related to recruitment retention and legal compliance. This position is heavy on employee relations in a manufacturing environment which can be a noisy environment that is fast-paced.
A Day in the Life:
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Provides coaching and guidance to employees and managers.
Implements and conducts the onboarding and off boarding of employees.
Handles complex and sensitive employment-related inquiries from applicants employees and supervisors.
Attends and participates in employee corrective action meetings terminations and investigations.
Identifies and recommends solutions to trending issues as a result of employee engagement.
Performs project-related and process improvement activities.
Maintains compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends best practices regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources talent management and employment law.
Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment hiring practices motivation turnover and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals milestones and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
Based on metrics and analysis makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates to motivate and retain employees to address staffing issues and to maintain legal compliance.
Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
May guide and/or assist with performance benefit and compensation review and evaluation processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS payroll and similar employee management software or HRIS systems.
Proficiency in or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Bachelors degree required.
Desired:
At least 2 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations preferred.
At least 2 years of human resources experience preferred.
Manufacturing or distribution experience highly preferred.
