Construction Accountant

Johns Service & Sales out of Oglesby IL is seeking anexperienced Accountantto join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.

Pay:Up to $65K (DOE)

Type:Full time permanent position on site

Shift:1^st shift M-F

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements reports and records.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable payroll and general ledger functions.
• Monitor budgets forecast financial performance and provide insights to management.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Assist with audits and tax preparation coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for cost savings.
• Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field experience.
• Minimum of4 years of professional Accounting / Control experience preferably in construction or mechanical contracting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accruals accounting principles and financial regulations and WIP.
• Experience with Union payroll a plus!
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Quickbooks.
• Experience with Spectrum / UKG is preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional demeanor and effective communication skills.
