Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an Employee Benefits / ERISA Attorney with 210 years of experience to join an established and growing practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the department head to support a strong client base while building relationships and preparing to take over a significant book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on ERISA compliance fiduciary duties and plan corrections
- Draft and amend plan documents including ESOPs 401(k)s and profit-sharing plans
- Support M&A transactions with benefits due diligence and plan transitions
- Work directly with the department head on client matters
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Develop toward leading the practice and inheriting a book of business
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 210 years of Employee Benefits / ERISA experience
- Experience drafting ERISA plan documents (ESOPs 401k etc.)
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Interest in long-term practice development and succession
Work Model
Hybrid role requiring in-office presence approximately 12 weeks per month in Des Moines Iowa. Candidates must be able to meet this requirement or be willing to relocate.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation range of $160000 $225000 with competitive equity potential. Reasonable billable expectations ( hours) and strong work-life balance compared to larger markets
