Position Overview:
As part of the talented Boston Whaler team a chemical handler is responsible for safely managing transporting and processing raw and hazardous materials used in production. This role sits at the intersection of safety precision and operational efficiency. A chemical handler is a hands-on professional who ensures that potentially dangerous substances are handled with care enabling manufacturing processes to run smoothly while protecting people products and the environment.

Essential Functions:
- Ensure the chemical waste station is clean and compliant.
- Clean and maintain Catalyst trays in resin alley back of bays and small part lamination.
- Ensure that chemicals are clearly marked and labeled to include mfg. date date received Q.C. status contents in compliance with OSHA guidelines
- Managing the inventory of the Red Chemical Fill Boxes in the bays and in small parts.
- Organization of all hazardous waste generated. Ensures proper labeling consolidation and storage of chemical waste.
- Assist with chemical spill clean-up operations when required.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and safe chemical storage and hazardous waste area.
- Clean and maintain the putty rigs at the Chemical Waste Station.
- Regularly changing the filters in Gel Coat Small Parts and Hull/Deck Lamination.
- Maintaining the Box Foam distribution and disposal.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Maintaining the catalyst shed.
- Maintaining the Acetate stands in the bays and in small parts.
- Disposal of hot trash as needed.
- Daily audits and monitoring to keep housekeeping standards high.
- Assist EH&S Department as required for special projects.
- Assist in the movement of empty drums to the drum storage area.

Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least 1 year of experience handling FRP/Assembly related materials.
- Requires High School Diploma or GED
- Must maintain current Hazardous Waste Management Certification.
- Must maintain Boston Whaler Forklift Certification.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proactive team player who is a self-starter with constant attention to improvement.
- Must have basic reading comprehension and writing skills be able to work from verbal and written instructions be capable of working with computer terminals and be able to complete routine paperwork.
- Ability to remain extremely focused and organized with a high-attention to detail / high degree of accuracy.
- Able to work with multiple priorities and people.
- This role will require a high level of energy creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
- Shop floor working environment.
- Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions such as air temperature radiant heat from sunlight air movement and humidity levels.
- Frequent exposure to high-temperatures including a hot and humid environment especially during summer months.
- Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes
- Required to wear safety glasses Tyvex aprons half mask respirator and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts resins fiberglass dust & cloths epoxy composites and other chemicals.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
- Ability to regularly bend stoop kneel twist crouch reach climb and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand bend stoop climb and lift for 8 hour shifts.
- Ability to perform other work as needed.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Theanticipatedpay range for this position is$19.63-$30.39 hourly.The actual base pay offeredwillvary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skillsrelevantexperience business needsandgeographic location.
At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of thesalaryrange for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent uponthe specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
