Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Our Program Strategy and Operations team within CPG GO & UP division is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor who will deliver commercial excellence across major infrastructure initiatives. You will provide oversight and tracking agenda items to governance and decision-making bodies including coordinating with CPG Memos for items to pass enterprise governance bodies (Investment Panel (IP) Change Control Board (CCB)).
You would support and report to the Senior Manager Governance Operations by organising various executive commercial and Strategy meetings (GO & UP Executive Commercial GO Expansion Steering Committee) including the coordination of agendas minutes actions as well as tracking of KPIs and managing document auditability. There will be lots of internal senior stakeholder interactions to ensure alignment and proper workback timelines are met and terms of references is upheld.
What will I be doing
- Maintain governance and management strategies to ensure that contracts adhere to Metrolinx policies and procedures and to minimize corporate liability and risk throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Provides expert advice and consultation to commercial management and officials on governance issues
- Liaises with cross functional teams and advisory committees to organize meetings manage distribution of information and provide updates
- Contributes to development of policies directives procedures and program implementation standards that support business unit operations
- Develops reports and presentations based on analytical findings to support planning and decision-making by Commercial Management leadership.
- Analyze administrative operational and/or project-related processes and procedures and develop and implement streamlined solutions for identified inefficiencies
- Help develop measure and report on governance key performance indicators and other performance metrics
- Prepares researches develops and disseminates information (e.g. policy correspondence key issues/briefing materials) and communicates ideas related to broad departmental initiatives and topics.
- Handles complex and confidential situations and multiple responsibilities independently to support the executive agenda; identifies emerging issues and urgency of immediate demands; mediates and resolves conflicts associated with issues ongoing work and between competing projects
- Reviews and analyzes communication documents prior to dissemination to ensure consistency as well as good quality and flow of information
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a degree in Communication Business Law Applied Science Engineering or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in administering commercial contracts monitoring contractor/vendor compliance and performance against contract terms and conditions managing timely flow of information along with stakeholder interaction.
- Solid business process skills with process documentation and template creation. Strong aptitude for analysis interpretation and attention to detail
- Strong organization and communication skills and the ability to keep items and people to deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft tools (OneNote SharePoint PowerBI etc.)
