Dump Truck Driver Class A

Job Summary:

The Dump Truck Driver Class A is responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks for transporting materials to and from project sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operates and maneuvers Class A dump trucks to transport construction materials between sites.
• Loads and unloads materials efficiently ensuring proper distribution and securing of the load.
• Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the dump truck.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicles safety and report any issues promptly.
• Maintains effective communication with construction site supervisors and other team members to coordinate material deliveries and pickups.
• Performs routine maintenance on the dump truck such as checking fluid levels tire pressure and ensuring overall vehicle functionality.
• Keeps accurate records of deliveries mileage and any incidents that may occur during transportation.
• Addresses and resolves any issues that may arise during transportation such as traffic delays or mechanical problems while keeping supervisors informed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience as a Class A dump truck driver in a construction or related industry required.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual acuity to follow hand signals maintain logs and inspect and maintain machinery.
• Active physical work involving occasionally; lifting (50 lbs) carrying pushing pulling stooping kneeling crouching bending reaching.
• Frequently walking standing and driving and operating equipment for extended periods of time.
• Requires focus adjustment depth perception clear close & distant vision.
• Requires regular use of hands to finger handle feel or operate objects tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Requires regular use of eyes shoulders & neck to monitor vehicle mirrors & back-up camera.
• Must be able to work in all weather types including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
