Head Coach, Men's Tennis

Job Summary

The Head MensTennis Coach will administer organize and coach the varsity Mens Tennis team.

Essential Functions

• Assist in teaching coaching training and motivating mens student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team and individual sessions.
• Foster an environment within the Mens Tennis program that supports the department mission of personal growth and integrity diversity leadership sportsmanship and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence.
• Select and successfully recruit student-athletes that meet the needs and growth of the program department and institution.
• Work effectively with administrators staff and coaches within the department of athletics to operate effectively within the structure of the organization.
• Communicate with all constituents of the program including staff faculty students parents alumni and friends.
• Monitor academic progress of Student-athletes.
• Manage the program operations including officials transportation practices preseason videotaping etc. of mens program.
• Ensure compliance with all University conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Foster growth of the mens tennis through fundraising and outreach.
• Work to foster growth of the Drexel Tennis community.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree orthe equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
• Minimum of 2 of experience coaching at the collegiate level or the equivalent.
• Strong written organization and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a student-athlete at the collegiate or professional level.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and instruct the skills and techniques of Tennis.
• An understanding of the role of competitive sports in a dynamic university setting.
• Proven ability to provide strong leadership in assisting in managing the complexities of a competitive team.
