About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Buckets/Trays/Structures to enhance the performance and reliability of the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet through asset strategy engineering support and technical oversight.
This is a great opportunity for a technically strong and collaborative specialist to influence fleet performance outcomes through defect elimination continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement.
Reporting to the Principal Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and working in a collaborative and technically focused environment within Operations you will be:
Developing and enhancing Whole of Life (WOL) strategies and tactics for managing and improving the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) specifically buckets trays and structures.
Evaluating and optimising fleet maintenance and Whole of Life (WOL) strategies using key performance data such as uptime and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
Owning maintenance defect elimination and continuous improvement strategies for the fleet.
Owning bucket and tray selection in collaboration with site engineering teams.
Acting as the technical subject matter expert and conduit between Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) teams Group Technical Rio Tinto Projects (RTP) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Applying defect elimination and continuous improvement methodologies leading and supporting Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) failure investigations and review of vendor bulletins.
Coordinating and providing engineering support for improvement and upgrade project implementation.
Providing technical guidance and support to regional reliability and maintenance engineering teams and enabling rapid replication of best practices across the business.
About you
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
Strong engineering experience with Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) including buckets trays and structural components.
Demonstrated capability in asset strategy development defect elimination and continuous improvement.
Proven experience leading Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) failure investigations and complex problem solving.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and crossfunctional teams.
Ability to provide clear technical guidance and influence outcomes across geographically dispersed teams.

Where youll be working - Perth Operations Centre
Our integrated iron ore network is supported by the Perth Operations Centre a stateoftheart facility that enables autonomous trucks trains and drills across mines ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location. The centre provides realtime visibility across the value chain and supports optimisation of mining maintenance and logistics activities across the Pilbara.
