The Role

• Leading and managing the Geography department ensuring the highest standards of teaching learning and student attainment.

• Designing and overseeing a stimulating curriculum across KS3 GCSE and A-Level (or IB) ensuring it remains at the forefront of geographical education.

• Mentoring and developing departmental staff through professional learning peer observations and collaborative planning.

• Coordinating an extensive co-curricular program including domestic and international field trips and subject-specific societies.

• Managing departmental budgets and resources including the integration of advanced GIS technology and digital learning tools.

• Analyzing student data to implement effective interventions and maintaining the departments track record of exceptional exam results.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or extensive experience within the independent sector.

• A strong honors degree in Geography or a related discipline from a reputable university.

• Proven experience as a successful teacher at all Key Stages with a track record of achieving top grades at GCSE and A-Level.

• Previous leadership experience or a clear readiness to step into a Head of Department role.

• Exceptional organizational skills and a professional resilient approach to school leadership.
