Economics Teaching Role in a Sixth Form Setting
A sixth form college in Sheffield is seeking to appoint an Economics Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a post-16 environment that focuses on academic achievement and progression to higher education.
Economics is a popular subject within the college with students studying both microeconomics and macroeconomics through a structured A-Level curriculum.
About the Role
You will teach Economics at Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that develop students understanding of economic theory data interpretation and analytical writing.
Students will explore topics such as markets inflation fiscal policy global economics and economic decision-making preparing them for A-Level examinations and further study.
You will support students in developing independent learning skills and strong examination technique.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery and assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach A-Level Economics to KS5 students
Deliver lessons covering microeconomics and macroeconomics
Prepare students for A-Level Economics examinations
Assess student work and provide detailed feedback

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in Economics
Experience teaching Economics
Ability to teach A-Level Economics
Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching related subjects such as Business or Politics
Experience preparing students for A-Level examinations
Experience working in a sixth form or post-16 environment
