The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially astute Business Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary academy. In this role you will guide students through the complexities of enterprise and strategic management utilising Brightons unique position as a Silicon Beach and a centre for independent commerce to bring the curriculum to life.

The Department & Academic Standard

• You will join a high-performing Social Sciences faculty where Business is a flagship subject characterised by high student motivation and exceptional outcomes at GCSE and A-Level.

Core Responsibilities

1. Exemplary Instruction: Teaching Business Studies across GCSE and A-Level (AQA/Edexcel) ensuring students master core concepts from marketing and HR to operations and finance.

2. Financial Literacy: Training students in the quantitative aspects of business including break-even analysis cash flow forecasting and the interpretation of balance sheets.

3. Strategic Analysis: Guiding students through advanced decision-making models such as SWOT analysis PESTLE and the impact of global economics on business strategy.

4. Data-Driven Progress: Utilising the academys sophisticated tracking systems to provide granular feedback ensuring students are equipped to meet the high-level evaluative demands of the exam.

5. Enterprise Leadership: Coordinating extra-curricular initiatives such as the Young Enterprise scheme or local green-tech challenges to build students practical commercial skills.

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject specialist who can translate abstract commercial laws into fascinating real-world insights. Requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS and a strong honours degree in Business Management or a related discipline.

• Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering exceptional learning outcomes and a deep understanding of current GCSE and A-Level specifications.

• Instructional Clarity: The ability to demystify complex financial and legal concepts for students of all abilities.
