Their New York office is a hub of deal activity and we are growing our FDD practice to meet increasing demand from our PE and corporate client base.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Partner-level leader to join our Financial Due Diligence practice in New York. This is a senior origination and leadership role - not a delivery-only seat. The right candidate will come with an established book of business deep PE and/or corporate client relationships and the credibility to represent the firm at the highest levels of the deal community.
This is an opportunity to join a platform with significant infrastructure brand recognition and cross-functional resources - while operating with the autonomy and entrepreneurial flexibility of an independent practice leader.
What You Will Do:
Client Development & Origination
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of PE sponsors and corporate clients driving repeat mandates and expanding wallet share across service lines
- Originate new client relationships independently and in collaboration with firm leadership
- Represent the firm at industry events sponsor meetings and in the broader deal advisory community
- Partner with other practice leaders to bring integrated multi-service solutions to transaction clients
Engagement Leadership
- Lead complex buy-side and sell-side FDD engagements end-to-end from proposal through final report delivery
- Serve as the senior review authority on quality of earnings working capital debt and debt-like items and financial risk assessments
- Oversee and mentor a high-performing team of Directors Senior Managers and Managers across active engagements
Practice Building
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the FDD practice in the New York market
- Play an active role in recruiting developing and retaining talent within the team
- Collaborate with firm leadership on go-to-market strategy service line development and market positioning
Ideal Candidate Profile Experience
- 15 years of progressive experience in financial due diligence and transaction advisory
- Minimum 5 years at the Partner Managing Director or equivalent senior origination level
- Demonstrated track record of independently originating and managing client relationships in the PE and/or corporate M&A space
- Deep experience leading buy-side FDD engagements for financial sponsors across the deal lifecycle
Client & Revenue Profile
- Portable book of business with PE fund and/or corporate client relationships that are personal and relationship-driven - not purely institutional
- History of repeat mandates from a defined cohort of sponsor or corporate clients
- Comfortable being measured against origination and revenue targets
What We Are Not Looking For
- Candidates whose client relationships are primarily sell-side or investment banking-driven
- Delivery-only profiles without a demonstrated origination track record
Credentials
- CPA required
- CFA or MBA a strong plus
- Deep familiarity with QoE analysis working capital assessments net debt analysis and financial risk identification in an M&A context
