Job Title: Senior Research Associate
Location: Mason OH 45040
Duration: 5 Months (Potential extension)
Shift: 1st (40 Hours/Week)
Pay Rate: $28.00/hr. on W2
Position Overview
The Senior Research Associate will support day-to-day laboratory operations by conducting hands-on experiments analyzing data and assisting in product and process development. This role focuses on building foundational scientific knowledge while executing well-defined experimental tasks and supporting research initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented mechanically inclined and eager to learn in a dynamic R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Research Work
- Perform hands-on laboratory experiments and procedural work
- Execute sample preparation and analysis using standard testing methods
- Operate maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Document experimental procedures observations and results accurately
- Identify inconsistencies errors or unusual findings and escalate appropriately
Product & Process Development
- Support development of prototype products and technical understanding
- Analyze relationships between input variables and experimental outcomes
- Assist in improving lab processes productivity and efficiency
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and lab protocols
Systems & Documentation
- Originate and revise product specifications using Enovia
- Route materials and standards for peer review and approval
- Understand relationships between master specifications individual specs and standards
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with cross-functional R&D teams
- Contribute ideas to improve experimental processes and workflows
- Participate in a collaborative fast-paced innovation environment
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Engineering Mechanical or related field or High School Diploma with relevant hands-on experience
- 0 3 years of laboratory R&D or technical experience
- Basic math skills (algebra geometry trigonometry)
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
Required Technical Skills
- Experience with Enovia (specifications routing standards)
- Understanding of specification hierarchy (master vs individual specs)
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP data comparison analysis)
- Experience working with formulation data (e.g. fill weight sheets product specs)
