Position Overview The Senior Research Associate will support day-to-day laboratory operations by conducting hands-on experiments analyzing data and assisting in product and process development. This role focuses on building foundational scientific knowledge while executing well-defined experimental tasks and supporting research initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented mechanically inclined and eager to learn in a dynamic R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Research Work
Perform hands-on laboratory experiments and procedural work
Execute sample preparation and analysis using standard testing methods
Operate maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
Document experimental procedures observations and results accurately
Identify inconsistencies errors or unusual findings and escalate appropriately
Product & Process Development
Support development of prototype products and technical understanding
Analyze relationships between input variables and experimental outcomes
Assist in improving lab processes productivity and efficiency
Maintain compliance with safety standards and lab protocols
Systems & Documentation
Originate and revise product specifications using Enovia
Route materials and standards for peer review and approval
Understand relationships between master specifications individual specs and standards
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with cross-functional R&D teams
Contribute ideas to improve experimental processes and workflows
Participate in a collaborative fast-paced innovation environment
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree in Engineering Mechanical or related field or High School Diploma with relevant hands-on experience
0 3 years of laboratory R&D or technical experience
Basic math skills (algebra geometry trigonometry)
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in team environments
Required Technical Skills
Experience with Enovia (specifications routing standards)
Understanding of specification hierarchy (master vs individual specs)
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP data comparison analysis)
Experience working with formulation data (e.g. fill weight sheets product specs)
