Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marine Outfitter (Trim & Finish) to join our team in New Orleans Louisiana. This position focuses on the installation fitting and finishing of interior components on marine vessels with a strong emphasis on yacht interiors and high-end finishes.
The Marine Outfitter will be responsible for installing cabinetry trim panels doors flooring and other interior components while ensuring precision fit and a high-quality appearance. This role requires strong craftsmanship attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have experience working on yacht construction or yacht refit projects and be comfortable working inside vessels and shipyard environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install interior yacht components including cabinetry trim moldings wall panels ceiling panels doors and flooring.
Perform finish carpentry and trim work on yacht interiors.
Fit and secure furniture countertops shelving storage units and decorative trim.
Measure cut shape and install materials such as hardwood laminates veneers composites and lightweight metals.
Read and interpret blueprints layout drawings and installation specifications.
Ensure precise alignment leveling and adjustments for high-end finishes.
Install hardware including hinges drawer slides latches handles and mounting brackets.
Sand seal and finish surfaces to meet yacht-quality appearance standards.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality durability and compliance with project specifications.
Work closely with electricians plumbers and other trades during vessel outfitting.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment inside vessels or shipyard facilities.
Must Haves
Previous yacht interior or yacht outfitting experience is required.
Experience with finish carpentry cabinet installation or marine joinery.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for trim and finish work.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship for high-end finishes.
Ability to work in confined spaces and tight compartments inside vessels.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
Preferred
Experience working on luxury yacht interiors yacht refits or custom yacht construction.
Knowledge of marine-grade materials adhesives and fasteners.
Experience installing custom cabinetry veneer panels and high-end interior finishes.
Familiarity with marine safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Experience working in shipyards marinas or vessel construction environments.
Work Environment
Shipyards marinas and vessel interiors.
Work may involve confined spaces tight compartments and varying heights inside vessels.
Physically demanding work requiring bending kneeling lifting and standing for extended periods.
