Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marine Painter to join our team in New Orleans Louisiana. This position involves preparing and applying high-quality marine coatings to finished yachts and marine vessels to protect surfaces from corrosion and environmental damage while delivering a professional final finish.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Awlgrip paint systems and be skilled in final finish yacht painting. Responsibilities include surface preparation such as sanding blasting and priming as well as applying marine-grade coatings using spray equipment brushes or rollers. This role requires strong attention to detail knowledge of marine coatings and the ability to work safely in shipyards dry docks and onboard vessels.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare metal or fiberglass surfaces by cleaning sanding blasting and priming.
Mix and apply marine-grade coatings paints and sealants.
Apply coatings using spray equipment brushes and rollers.
Perform final finish painting on yachts and high-end marine vessels.
Ensure proper coating thickness finish quality and adherence to specifications.
Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations when handling paints and chemicals.
Maintain high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Work effectively in shipyards dry docks and onboard marine vessels.
Must Have
Experience as a Marine Painter or marine coating applicator.
Hands-on experience with Awlgrip paint systems.
Experience performing final finish painting on yachts or high-end vessels.
Ability to prepare surfaces including sanding blasting and priming.
Experience using spray guns and marine painting equipment.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and marine environments.
Preferred
Experience working in shipyards yacht repair facilities or dry docks.
Knowledge of marine coating systems and corrosion protection.
Experience with high-gloss marine finishing techniques.
Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations related to marine coatings.
Ability to read coating specifications or work instructions.
Work Environment
