Role description:
Were looking for an Associate Scheduler to join our UK Defence & Security Sector. Youll play a key role in some mission critical projects and long-term engagements that will provide a lasting positive impact on the UKs defence capability.
Role accountabilities:
- Lead and mentor project scheduling teams fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs providing regular updates tailored advice and proactive solutions to ensure satisfaction and alignment with project objectives.
- Develop implement and enhance service delivery processes championing quality and consistency in all aspects of schedule management and client interaction.
- Oversee resource allocation across projects to optimize team performance and ensure schedules are adequately staffed to meet client needs.
- Reviewing and analysing complex construction schedules and provide opinions advice and reports as necessary on project progress as well as predictions of the work using scheduling software.
- Recruit onboard coach and retain scheduling talent. Set clear objectives conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Manage the Integrated Master Schedule and develop/maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Asta Powerproject) applying Critical Path Method techniques for effective project controls progress tracking and delay analysis.
- Visit active construction projects to assess and confirm work progress against the project schedule and other records; advise the client of actual progress and related cost implications.
- Develop potential recovery plans for both time and cost deviations identified during project reviews.
- Review and analyse construction claims providing expert opinions advice and reports on contractual entitlement and quantification of damages suitable for use in dispute resolution (negotiation mediation arbitration and litigation).
- Prepare reports charts and graphs to support and present schedule and claim analysis to clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using various industry-standard scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Asta Powerproject) applying Critical Path Method techniques for effective project controls progress tracking and delay analysis
Qualifications & Experience:

- Demonstrable experience leading teams and scheduling service
- Demonstrable experience working in a scheduling role
- Demonstrable experience working with clients including building and maintaining strong client relationships understanding client needs and objectives and delivering tailored solutions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills as well as organisational skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with working with NEC contracts
- Previous experience working in the Defence and Security sector government projects or other major projects is desirable
- In depth knowledge of built asset and infrastructure
- Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
- Ability to obtain SC clearance
