Design Coordinator
Job Summary
Role Impact:
As a support member of the CF Development in-house design team the Design Assistant is responsible for executing day-to-day 3D modeling rendering and CAD drafting. This role also handles the graphic design coordination required to turn these architectural assets into presentation packages for the CF Development teams internally and externally.
What you will deliver:
- Assist the team in compiling and formatting design materials presentations leasing and marketing documents
- Assist in requests for space planning and concept design for further exploration
- Able to coordinate all information and drawings into a cohesive package when required
- Translate conceptual architectural ideas into CAD drafts and 3D models using industry-standard CAD software to support internal design iterations and client presentations.
- Able to conceive and develop design ideas and present the ideas to team for feedback and consideration
- Coordinate and communicate with consultants suppliers and vendors to the AD team and report back to AD leadership on progress for feedback and alignment
- Transform sketches with design direction provided by senior team members into detailed 3D models to be used in final architectural renderings
- Provide general design and architectural support the AD and the CF Development teams when needed
- Research and document new architectural methods design trends and other innovations that have the potential to be deployed in CFs projects.
What your strengths are:
- Understanding of space planning design materials construction terminology and be in tune with our industry particularly in the Retail and FB sectors
- Basic familiarity with OBC (Ontario Building Code) in a retail and commercial context
- Able to understand and interpret architectural mechanical and structural working drawings and be able to modify CAD plans elevations and sections for design studies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- High level of sound and independent judgment reasoning and discretion

- Able to write moderately complex correspondence

What you need to succeed:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a construction design-related field i.e. Architecture or Interior Design
- Postgraduate certification in an architectural field.
- 2-4 years related work experience including at least 1 year in an architecture-related field
- Exposure to the Real Estate/Property Management field an asset
- Exposure to Retail Design an asset
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information
- Proficient skills in Google Suites; Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency working with AutoCAD Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite and associated rendering packages
- Experience with Revit or other BIM software would be an asset
- Familiarity with the use of generative AI tools in the production of architectural models and imagery
Starting base pay for this job level may range from $58194 to $77592. The actual base pay offered will consider several factors including but not limited to the role experiences skills & qualifications location market and internal considerations; with this context CF reserves the right to pay above this range.
