Education and Experience Required:

Bachelors degree and six (6) years of experience in computer science information systems or database experience.

Certifications Licenses or Registration Required:

Industry standard database certification required. If individual does not have Epic DBA certification must certify post-hire within six (6) months.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Technical expertise in the maintenance and administration of enterprise database systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provides technical expertise in the design implementation configuration maintenance and administration of enterprise database systems.
• Identifies and resolves database problems within application environments service requirements.
• Identifies and resolves performance bottlenecks and related performance issues.
• Develops maintains and implements policies and procedures for ensuring database integrity and security.
• Monitors database environments.
• Work within UMMC Service desk ticketing system and schedule.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure blood borne pathogens fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours occasional travelling to offsite locations occasional bending occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasional crouching/stooping occasional driving occasional kneeling occasional pushing/pulling frequent reaching frequent sitting frequent standing occasional twisting and frequent walking.
