UW Medicine-Northwest- Food and Nutrition has an outstanding opportunity for a Culinary Associate.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 100% FTE Full time Days
- Fixed duration for 1 year (benefits eligible)
- Shift is 12pm-8:30pm
- Will include weekends
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UW Medicines mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care unforgettable customer service and fresh and nutritious food for patients families and the greater community.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Responsible for promoting excellence in guest relations and support the hospitality model as well as promoting the mission vision and values of the UW Medicine Health System.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cook and/or bake items from scratch to include sauces marinades and spice blends
- Prepare meat fish and fowl for cooking according to standard recipes menus or verbal instructions; butcher larger cuts of meat fish and fowl
- Prepare and cook vegetables fruits soups and cereals; prepare salads quick breads desserts and beverages
- Prepare all types of bakery and dessert items according to standard recipes menus or verbal instructions
- Operate cooking and kitchen equipment which may include but not limited to grills burners woks ovens microwaves slicers toasters food processors and blenders
- Review preparation lists and make adjustments as needed to meet production schedule or specific needs; test new recipes and ingredients
- May direct Food Service Workers students and temporary workers
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of or eligible for a food handlers permit AND
- One year of experience as a Food Service Worker; or equivalent education/experience.
