Registered Nurse (RN) - Mercy Spine and Pain Management

Schedule: Monday to Friday 40 hours/week Day Shift
Licensure: Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri
Certifications: CPR required; other certification required according to department policy.
Other: Skills Knowledge and Abilities: Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be able to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients staff and the public. Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills or the ability to learn these skills in order to access information and enter clinical data.
Responsibilities
Assess room and prepare patients; obtain detailed medical histories and vital signs.
Assist providers with spine and pain management evaluations procedures and injections (e.g. joint trigger point or spinal procedures).
Provide specialized nursing care tailored to pain management including monitoring patients during and after procedures and supporting urgent clinical needs.
Coordinate and support diagnostic services such as imaging referrals and lab work related to pain management care plans.
Accurately document patient care treatment plans and procedures in the electronic health record.
Manage patient communications including education triage test result follow-up and ongoing care coordination.
Maintain exam rooms clinical equipment and medication safety in accordance with infection control and regulatory standards.
