What Youll Do
- Perform field testing and inspection activities at construction sites including soil density testing compaction testing and evaluation of soil conditions for foundations
- Document field observations and test results by preparing tabulating and submitting detailed daily technical reports for project managers engineers and clients
- Prepare all field paperwork maps daily reports and test sheets and submit them daily/weekly
- Work closely with project teams contractors surveyors project managers clients to support construction quality and compliance with project specifications
- Attend all tailgate safety meetings for each project assigned
- Attend all Leighton Loss Prevention Meetings
What Youll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- Work experience in construction or field related industries
- Educational or work emphasis in Geology Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- Certifications in soil and concrete testing (ACI ICC or statespecific certifications preferred; Caltrans certifications a plus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data management tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project documentation
- Ability to clearly write daily reports
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments including lifting 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail reliability and a teamoriented mindset
Salary Range:
$25-$30/hr.
