The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a course in the Healthcare Executive MBA program during the fall of 2026. The class meets online and in person on four Saturdays.

  • Teach a three-unit course at the graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of their course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes

Course Descriptions

MBAH 5410 Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industry (3 credits units; 08/24/2026-10/06/2026; Thursdays 7:00-9:00 PM remote and Saturdays 1:00 -5:00 PM in-person) -- Pharmaceuticals and biotech are an important source of health improvements. Accordingly understanding the forces shaping new drug development and access to medicines is an important concern of public health. This course provides an introduction to the pharmaceutical industry. It begins with an overview of the history of the industry its evolution and its unique economics then students critically examine a range of policy issues related to pharmaceuticals biotech and public health.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business or Management with an emphasis on Pharma/Biotech or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching Pharma/Biotech industry courses at the MBA or graduate level.
  • Working proficiency in Google Suite (Docs Gmail Calendar Drive Sheets and Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency working with Zoom and digital cameras.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Business or Management with emphasis on Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology/Healthcare-related fields or PhD in Pharma/Biotech-related fields or Terminal degree in Pharma-related fields (e.g. PharmD etc.).
  • Experience teaching Pharma/Biotech industry at the MBA level.
  • Work experience in the Pharma/Biotech industry where managerial decision making is involved.
