As the Audit Director Capital Markets youll lead a multi-skilled audit team within the Capital Markets portfolio and oversee large or complex audits throughout all phases including planning execution and reporting. Youll build and maintain strong professional relationships with the Capital Markets business internal colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders by providing trusted advice or assurance on governance internal controls and risk management activities.Youll also be responsible for managing the teams performance and development monitoring of key business risks and regulatory requirements project management and leading various continuous improvement initiatives.

Audit effectiveness & project management Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute risk-based audits report audit results and perform continuous monitoring of managements control environment. Effectively manage multiple audits and internal projects at different stages to ensure completion within prescribed timelines. Communicate regularly on progress and issues. Review audit work to ensure a high level of quality and compliance with audit standards.
Leadership Provide trusted and proactive advice to the audit team and business management on the design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls to ensure key risks and regulatory requirements relevant to the portfolio are being adequately managed. Coach and develop team members to build and maintain a collaborate team environment and ensure individual development goals are met.
Communication - Demonstrate clear concise and influential written and verbal communication skills when issuing audit reports discussing audit findings resolving conflicts or interacting with CIBC executives regulators and external auditors. Develop strong internal and external relationships through ongoing communication on progress of engagements and providing advice on risk control and regulatory matters.
You can demonstrate experience in and have extensive knowledge of Capital Markets functions within a large financial have managed teams of 2 or more people and have provided strategic direction in past roles to enhance operational effectiveness of the department. Its an asset if you have previous experience as an internal and/or external auditor.
