About this Opportunity
The UW in the High School Program Administrator is a specialized role with primary responsibility for day-to-day operations of the UW in the High School (UWHS) program. The Program Administrator is a key member of the UWHS team and collaborates with the UWHS Director and Senior Program Manager other units within Continuum College (e.g. marketing finance registration) and UW faculty from a wide range of departments to oversee and refine administrative policies and procedures that are central to the success of the program.
Key Responsibilities
Program Administration (40%)
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the program structure and components audience stakeholders and objectives. Act as day-to-day decision-maker in resolving situations related to smooth program operations. Take ownership of and advise stakeholders on detailed operational program processes and policies and master unique tools and systems used to support the program. Maintain clear and thorough documentation of customized program policies and operational procedures. Plan and present information at program events such as teacher training and orientation. Participate in the development and maintenance of web tools to support program constituents. May hire train and supervise a part-time student assistant.
Program Stakeholder Engagement And Customer Service (40%)
Provide exceptional customer service leaving a positive impression of the University Continuum College and UWHS program brands. Write edit and review content for accurate and engaging websites marketing materials and resources for students and teachers. Establish and maintain strong communication channels as a primary point-of-contact for program stakeholders:
- Campus partners UW faculty departmental administrators central support units
- Community partners high school teachers and administrators
- Program participants high school students and former UWHS students
- General public prospective participant inquiries
Facilitative Program Leadership (20%)
Lead efforts to update and improve the programs operational processes and procedures. Identify and contribute to the development and implementation of new policies communication tools and systems to improve quality expand access or provide clarity for program stakeholders. Participate in strategic planning/special initiatives and train new staff on program policies and procedures as needed.

- Bachelors Degree AND at least two years of increasingly responsible administrative experience within higher education K-12 education nonprofit organization or education agency.
Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing multiple priorities and programs within a complex and fast-paced organization
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate proficiency in the use of database systems
- Ability to learn technology systems to enter review and analyze data
- Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness both as a self-starter and as a team member

The UW in the High School program is a large outreach program delivering UW coursework to more than 8000 students in more than 100 high schools across Washington. Taught by UW-approved teachers the UW courses offered through UWHS include sciences math humanities and world languages and are overseen by UW faculty from across campus. This program is nationally accredited and regularly engages with peers at other colleges and universities.
