Toowoomba Grammar School is seeking a skilled and proactiveAgricultural Science Technician to support thedelivery of the Schools Agricultural Science curriculum. This roleplays a key part in maintaining an efficient safe andwellorganised laboratory and agricultural environment supportingboth staff and students in practical learning activities.
About Toowoomba Grammar School
Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875 and is a memberschool of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland(GPS). It is an independent non-denominational day andboarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1200 fromPreparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boardersin the School coming predominantly from throughout QueenslandNorthern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. TheSchools campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometrefrom the centre of Toowoomba.

About the Position
Working within the Science Department and the Agriculture andIndustry Centre (AIC) the Agricultural Science Technician isresponsible for preparing and managing laboratory materials andequipment maintaining flora and fauna supporting classroompracticals and ensuring compliance with workplace health andsafety requirements. The role works closely with the Head ofDepartment Science the Head of Department Technologiesteaching staff and students to enhance engagement and learningoutcomes across the Science and Agricultural Science programs.
This is an opportunity for a detailfocused professional with astrong background in agricultural science or laboratory support tocontribute to a dynamic handson educational environment.
Selection Criteria:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment tothe following criteria:
- Minimum three years experience in agriculture laboratory or a related technical field.
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory and agricultural safety practices and WH&S requirements.
- Experience preparing and managing materials and equipment for practical activities including handling chemical biological and physical resources safely.
- Ability to manage inventory systems and documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Sound IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft 365 and learn school systems.
- Welldeveloped communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- Current (or willingness to obtain) First Aid CPR and a Positive Notice Blue Card.
