About the Role

Baw Baw Shire is seeking a motivated and experienced Sports Field leader who will play a key role in the maintenance and presentation of Councils sports fields and active recreation reserves. You will lead and undertake sports turf maintenance activities including mowing irrigation management fertilising aeration and renovation works. You will also assist in planning and scheduling maintenance programs ensuring playing surfaces are safe consistent and meet performance expectations. Working closely with the Supervisor you will contribute to the delivery of high qualityturf outcomes contractor coordination where required and the ongoing improvement of sports field standards across the municipality.

About the Successful Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in sports turf maintenance and enjoy working outdoors and in a team environment.

You will demonstrate:
Relevant sports turf management and supervisory experience.
Strong team leadership and coordination skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to safety and quality work practices.
Experience operating turf maintenance plant and equipment.

Essential Requirements:
Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or equivalent experience.
Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of OHS systems and safe work practices.

Desirable:
Medium Rigid (MR) Truck Licence.
ACUP and chemical user accreditation.
Experience operating sports turf machinery (e.g. tractors mowers aerators and irrigation systems).
