Laboratory Technician

Key Responsibilities

Support the work of operational teams by ensuring Laboratory Support Service is completed to a high standard. Work positively and proactively within a team of technicians to ensure laboratory support work is performed in a timely manner. 

• Laboratory glass washing collection and redistribution
• Pipette management including collection performance checks and return
• Stock checks and ordering of supplies
• Reagent preparation
• Equipment maintenance
• Record keeping and administrative duties 
• Conduct analytical work using appropriate techniques and in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g. ISO 17025)
• Act in compliance with the site Health & Safety Policy
• Maintain a clean tidy and well-equipped work area observing operational regulations

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level with 5 GCSEs graded A-C (or 9-4)
• Experience in a regulated laboratory environment is advantageous
• Sound computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
