Job Summary

Position Overview

Every member of the Team & Family at KIPP KC plays a critical role in ensuring our students are on the path toward college career and beyond. As a principal you will deliver exceptional instructional leadership and assess student growth consistently. You are dedicated to constant learning and proactively provide academic and cultural support to your school staff. You are deeply committed to educational equity developing the instructional capacity of teachers building relationships with students and families so they are safe seen heard and loved.

Instructional Leadership:

  • Support the implementation of a rigorous curriculum actively mobilizing teachers to achieve the schools collective goals aligned with the Principals vision.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations provide constructive feedback and coach teachers on effective practices.

Teacher Leadership & Development:

  • Mentor and support teachers in your assigned grade levels fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance teacher skills and knowledge.
  • Lead the planning and goal setting ensuring alignment with school-wide goals.

School Culture & Operations:

  • Create a safe inclusive and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist in developing and implementing school-wide behavior management plans and routines.
  • Serve as the first point of contact  regarding student concerns and parent engagement.
  • Oversee the daily operations ensuring smooth functioning of classrooms lunch periods and student transitions.
  • Manage and support faculty and staff within your grade levels addressing any concerns and ensuring they have the resources needed to be successful.

Data Analysis & Decision-Making:

  • Analyze student data to identify areas of strength and opportunity.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop data-driven instructional strategies and interventions.
  • Monitor the progress of students and track the effectiveness of implemented programs.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with parents students and teachers regarding academic progress school policies and upcoming events.
  • Collaborate with other school and district leaders to achieve the schools overall goals.
  • Represent the school at meetings and events as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in Education Educational Leadership or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a K-8 or high school setting including at least 2 years of leadership or teacher-leader experience (e.g. Grade Level Lead Instructional Coach Content Lead).

  • Proven track record of instructional leadership and improving student learning outcomes.

  • The candidate is expected to attend conferences meetings and training sessions both virtually and in person within the Region. 

Work Environment

  • Reports to work Monday-Friday.

  • Typical school or office environment with frequent interruptions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to work location. 

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary for this positoin is $3750 for the entire summer session.
