Facility Overview

A large fully accredited acute care hospital in South Florida is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN Behavioral Health. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and a designated stroke center offering a wide range of inpatient and specialty services. The organization is committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care and maintaining strong clinical standards.

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager RN Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a 53-bed inpatient Behavioral Health unit with 24/7 accountability. This leadership role focuses on clinical quality staff development operational efficiency financial performance and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily unit operations with full accountability
• Plan and manage staff schedules and assignments
• Participate in hiring performance evaluations coaching and disciplinary actions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
• Collaborate with hospital leadership physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including RNs Behavioral Health Technicians and Charge Nurses
• Maintain safe staffing levels and ensure quality patient care
• Provide leadership for adult and geriatric inpatient populations

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BLS certification (or within 30 days of hire)
• ACLS certification (or within 30 days of hire)
• CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification (or within 90 days of hire)
• Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care setting

Preferred Qualifications

• 35 years of inpatient psychiatric clinical experience
• 13 years of leadership experience (e.g. Charge RN Assistant Nurse Manager Supervisor or Coordinator)
